New Rivals:- Honda Activa 3G Vs Mahindra Gusto

The scooter market in India is facing a high-level of competition each passing day. The leading two-wheeler manufacturers such as Honda Two-Wheelers, Hero Motocorp and TVS have become stronger participants of this competition. The Mahindra Two-Wheelers has also joined the scooter segment with its latest launch Mahindra Gusto. The Mahindra Gusto will directly be rivaling with the newly introduced Honda Activa 3G. Let’s have an eye over the rivaling technical and cosmetic features of both the scooters.

Activa 3G Vs Mahindra Gusto

Mahindra Gusto:- The Mahindra Gusto is the newly joined member of the Indian product portfolio of the Mahindra Two-Wheelers. The firm has introduced this scooter claiming that it would be a tough rival for the Activa series of scooter manufactured by the Honda Motorcycles. Mechanically, the Mahindra Gusto is featuring a single-cylinder, 4-satroke, M-TEC engine carrying an engine displacement of 109.6cc. The air-cooled engine is mated to a CVT Transmission. The 109.6cc displaced engine is tuned to generate a maximum power of 8 BHP @ 7500 RPM and achieves a peak torque of 9Nm @ 5500 revs. The manufacturer has installed Telescopic Air Spring front forks and hydraulic rear suspension. The stopping power has been taken care by Mechanical drum brakes at both front and rear.

Mahindra Gusto

The height adjustable seat is capable enough to give a convenient and comfortable long ride. The Find Me Lamp and Remote Flip-Key help you find out your vehicle in a crowded parking lot. The durable tubeless tyres provide better grip and performance. Apart from the under seat storage, the firm is also offering a pocket-like storage just below the display panel. The Mahindra two-Wheelers is offering four attractive colors for Mahindra Gusto. The scooter is making its availability in three variants with a starting price of Rs 45,410 and goes up to Rs 49,410 (Ex-Showroom Delhi).

Honda Activa 3G:- The Honda Motorcycles has added a new member in the Activa series of scooter, Activa 3G. It can also be said as the 3rd generation model of the Activa scooter. Getting into the technical details of the newcomer product, it is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled engine carrying an engine displacement of 109cc. The firm has installed HET (Honda Eco Technology) in the scooter to enhance the power and torque figures. The 109cc displaced engine is capable to belt a maximum power of 8BHP @ 7500 revs and a peak torque of 9Nm @ 5500 revs. The power is transferred to the rear wheel via a V-Matic chain drive transmission.

Honda Acitva 3G

In order to enhance the riding quality, the firm has added hydraulic spring loaded front and rear forks. The braking power is provided by 130mm drum brakes at both rear and front ends. Being a 3rd generation scooter, the Activa 3G has received a 3G badge over the side panels and off-course a new paint scheme as well. The Honda Activa 3G is making its availability in the Indian market carrying a price tag of Rs 50,048 (Ex-Showroom Price). Check out full comparison report here.
